I haven’t had band practice or played a show in over a year. I wanted to make something to let you know that you are not alone and your skill and creativity, your ambition is still valuable and appreciated. Times have been confusing and lonely, that’s why I started this cassette with a snippet of Gloretta’s “Golden Lonesome”. I wanted to make something to share, like my brother shared the “Safe @ Home” project from Jeff Hulett and Jacob Church with me. “Rock & Roll Party” hope to see you there again. And then there are those old acquaintances that just pop up again. When you’re isolated, everyone is far away, and when everyone is far away, anyone can be close. Drew Danburry “Solitude.” Some as close as your backyard, or the studio in your neighborhood, curating Homestyle Recordings, like Peyton Rodeffer’s “Billy,” or “We Get It Chris, You're On Fire” by Tiblinski. I thought I would make something for the people that I love and that love me, but also challenge myself to do something different, like a “Queen of Valley City Remix”. As we pass the time, how are we making something better? Including ourselves, “i’ll be a better man after the quarantine.” - deadblankets. Some of us have partners, Rosey “Take Care” that share the same “Beautiful Space” Safe @ Home. But we all need someone to talk to. Connecting through voice recordings and cell phones, thinking “We’ll Live Forever” (Glamper). Hasn’t this year been “Unreal” (Taylor Mcmillian)? Or just really real? Regardless, no one can deny “it was really hard.” Religion? Hitoshi Yamaguchi :He Is Able Regardless. “reach out to the ones you love”. Remind each other of the good times, “2009”, even if only recorded at midnight on your couch for a single listener, a best friend. Show them your “True Form” (Charlie Murphey - Bard of the Apocalypse). Constant. I see you out there, “Hangin’ Tough” (Spencer Thomas). Let’s just keep doing the best we can for each other and ourselves. “Music Talks!” (David McDowell). That’s why I made this tape. With the help of my friends. So give it a listen. Encourage a friend. Be encouraged yourself. Big Love, - CTC
